Textually Active

There is a phenomenon that has slowly been building over the last few years. If you’re not doing it yet I’m sure you’ve seen someone who is and not even noticed. Let me take you through the scenario so you will know what you are looking for.

A person will be totally concentrated on their mobile device. The head and shoulders are slumped downward, the hands hold the device protectively inward and the fingers or thumbs are working furiously tap, tap, tapping away. When these first symptoms appear, you are more than likely about to witness the telltale sign of catching something mischievous going on. Without even realizing that they are doing it, the person will suddenly break out into a wicked little grin that only a sext (sex text) can bring. You will have just witnessed a “textually” active person.

Here are a couple of other examples of textation:

Texthibitionist: Someone who texts things they would not say in person because the distance saves them from social anxiety.

Text Dating: When text messaging plays an integral role in your dating life; growing trend in which technology, if used properly, supports and enhances your love life.

Textification: When the relationship becomes a textationship; the process of all communication between two people who are romantically interested in each other-moving to the next medium.

Textationship: A relationship based solely on texting; no phone conversations ever take place other than brief one sentence statements such as “I’m here, open the gate,” when two people take the next step after text dating.

And this one is a favorite. Feel free to add any of these in your everyday vocabulary.

Textual: Adjective implying a romantic or sexual nature to text communications, as in “they have a textual relationship.” This can include not only text but nude photos as well.

Sexting chats can be a huge enhancement to your sex life, as I explained in my Q&A from a couple of weeks ago. Those “textual” texts can be a hot spark to start a flame, especially if you can work yourself up to becoming a “texthibitionist.” Some things are better read than said!

Just remember the stead fast rules of sexting. Do not send them from your company computer or cell phone. The last thing you want to explain to HR is why you want to stick your tongue in her butt.
