After writing last week’s article, “Why So Serious” I couldn’t stop thinking about the comparison of the little blue pills (Viagra) and some of natures remedies for low libido. As I said last week, no man I know thinks of cozy hot baths and walks through a meadow when he’s got lovin’ on his mind. Whenever these commercials pop up with their pleasant scenes I always think about the shelves of my favorite local herb shop. When I’m there I always inevitably walk by the sexual stimulant isle. The names for nature’s answers to sexual help are way more in line with their use than their pharmaceutical counter parts. Horny Goat Weed is at the top of the list. Lets examine a couple of these natural alternatives, none of which you need a prescription to buy!
We will begin by examining natural stimulants for the male in our species. Mother nature has answered the call for help in many forms.
Antler (Deer and Elk) has been used in New Zealand, Russia, China and Japan for centuries to increase hormonal imbalance in men. It also increases sperm production. Without the little swimmers none of us would be here!
Ginkgo Biloba is known to help with blood flow and memory loss. So not only can he enjoy the benefits of this herb, he’ll be able to remember what he did in the morning just in case he wants to try it again at another time.
Yohimbe is the Grandfather of all the male stimulants. Yohimbe is listed in the Physicians Desk Reference as a sensual stimulant. Chocked full of testosterone elements, Yohimbe has been proven to increase sexual desire and activity even in males with a normal or average sex drive. If it’s good, why not make it better!
Lets move on to the natural stimulants for the female persuasion. While most prescription drug companies focus mainly on the male sex drive and potential, mother nature has not left out a few helpers for the ladies.
Ginseng is the oldest and most reliable known herb in the world. It is a very popular component in traditional medicines today. Ginseng helps with overall physical and mental well being while acting as a sexual stimulant. If you can orgasm and you know it clap your hands (clap clap). If you can orgasm and you know it clap your hands (clap clap). If you can orgasm and you know it then your face will surely show it. If you can orgasm and you know it clap your hands (clap clap)!
Licorice was used by the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks and Chinese for its ability to help with sexual inhibitions. There are known writings by Hippocrates, Theophrastus and Pliny about licorice and it’s use for procreation. It raises the levels of estrogen which in turn regulates a women’s ovulation. Ovulation is a proven time of increased sexual desire for women. Mother Nature knows how to keep the species going.
Willow was used by the Greeks for it’s pain relieving abilities. In modern times it has been used for it’s same pain relieving and anti-inflammation abilities to help women who might have some discomfort during intercourse. There are also things that increase sexual desire and stimulate any sexual organ. These little instigators can be used by both the male and the female.
Saw Palmetto is described quite simply by the Native Americans as an aphrodisiac. It increases the desire and stimulates the brain with feelings of energy and well being. Both are very important attributes needed when going into a good session of groove moves. Last, but not least, let’s not forget the one that started this whole discussion.
Horny Goat Weed. Do you really even need a description of what this herb does? The name says it all! If you have seen something in this article you might like to try I recommend you visit your local health food/herbal supplement store.
