Book Review: Rubber Life

3xl latex rubber fetish author book copenhagen

3xL, author of "Rubber Life"

Not just a play on words, “Rubber Life” by the well-known Copenhagen latex fetish expert 3xL (whose name stands for Lust, Love, Latex) brings to light a complete guide to latex fetishism.  Well-informed with humorous illustrations, amazing graphics, and tip boxes throughout engages any reader from a latex aficionado or to those completely naive to the latex lifestyle.

After reading “Rubber Life“, the tasteful yet erotic images made me want to go latex shopping.  Being in the fetish scene for five years, I learned many things about the origin of latex and the different senses such as look, feel, touch, aroma and even taste used to establish a latex fetish.  The book eases beginners into how to explore their own thoughts and the coming out process to friends and family, which is very important to anyone with a fetish, especially to an unknowing partner.

Each type of different latex fetish is thoroughly outlined in the book from simple role-playing and light bondage to some of the more extreme practices such as sensory deprivation and total enclosure.  Each section comes with safety tips and the general warning for any fetishist to be “Sane, Safe, and Consensual”, which are words to live by in the fetish scene.  Wardrobe is fully explained from the basic outfit to custom outfits and accessories, including thorough care instructions.  I learned a better way to fix my own latex with the great instructional “how-to” piece for fixing tears and rips in latex.

Going through the chapters, this book definitely is a must read for anyone new or old to the latex scene.  Great websites are listed, including where to find good latex, how to get started in or even find your local latex fetish community or club, event etiquette, and even a “how-to guide” of making a good profile to find other latex fetishists online.

Living the latex lifestyle myself, I would gladly recommend this book, both to people who have never experienced or even heard of latex and to friends who are very experienced in the industry.  This book gets five out of five stars, and it is totally coffee table worthy, if/when the hard copy comes out.

Currently, “Rubber Life” is only available in ebook and audio book formats.  To purchase the ebook and audio book, and for updates on if a hard copy becomes available, visit RubberLife.com/purchase.
