The fetish camps continue, this time in Washington state, just outside of Bellingham. Those in the Seattle area can make the commute north a few hours, while those in the Vancouver, BC area are just a short drive south to attend In the Woods 2010.
In the Woods is celebrating its 10th anniversary and will take place July 23-26. The organized events of the fetish weekend will occur over those dates, but optional additional camping is available Wednesday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 28. That means you could have up to a week of camping with kinky friends!
For the early birds, there will be a meet and greet in the main tent on Thursday evening at 9pm sponsored by Juliet Heart and David Knight films. The meet and greet will include social games to facilitate meeting new friends and renew old friendships, and there will also be prizes!
Presenters from all over the US and Canada will be at In the Woods delivering a variety of workshops on BDSM, including topics on bondage, whips, fire play, corsetry, and D/s issues. For a complete list of workshops, go to the official ITW website. There will even be a medical fetishist who is a real-life medical clinician! He’ll be hosting a whip lounge, for people of all skill levels to come play with single tail whips.
When packing for a camping trip, people usually think of sleeping bags, flashlights, and coolers. But if you’re packing for a fetish camping trip, you’re going to want to bring a few other necessities:
*Leather items, such as masks, pasties, collars, cuffs, and other role-playing items.
*Bondage gear, like silk binding sashes, PVC bonding tape, an easily portable piece of Liberator Black Label shapes (like the wedge/ramp combo) and a pro cuff kit.
*A variety of sex toys: cock rings, nipple clamps, a glass dildo which can be dipped in hot or cold water for intensified play, and a harness.
*An assortment of whips, riding crops, and paddles to achieve different sensations and accommodate different play partners with varying tastes for pain.
There will also be vendors set up at the camp to pick up any last minute toys or souvenirs.
In the Woods is organized by The Triskeli Guild. From the In the Woods website:
The purpose of ITW 2010, an annual Northwest BDSM event, is to offer opportunities for Leather education and training – engage in tons of fun – and most importantly to help raise much-needed funds for the future ITWs and events. The Triskeli Guild is a non-profit, inclusive BD/SM, Pansexual, group promoting an alternative lifestyle community. We have members from all over the globe, but our primary audience is in the Pacific Northwest. We encourage participation by all genders, races, and sexual preferences.
If you’re not on the Pacific West Coast, stay tuned to this blog! There are plenty more fetish weekends coming up this summer on the East Coast and other areas of the US.
