Stas Kadrulev is not well known in the erotic art world. Perhaps it is because his photographs straddle the fence between the ‘erotic’ and fine art worlds. Other than the images appearing on his DeviantArt page, there is no other information available on Stas Kadrulev or that of his models. Not knowing who this photographer is or his background adds a sense of mystery and wonderment. What we do know, however; is his photography is surreal and alluring. He strikes the perfect balance between sensuality and eroticism without being too objectifying and too obvious.

Stas Kadrulev: Flesh Garden of Delights

It takes great skill in blending nude models with natural landscapes. A lot of photographers try and most of the time they fail at finding a seamless balance between both worlds. The photos produced by Stas Kadrulev transcend identity by taking each nude form and transforming the figures into an almost animal nature. He achieves this by placing an equal amount of emphasis on the location, model, composition, and lighting without inserting too much of himself. Stas Kadrulev manages to keep his distance while capturing something intimate at the same time. The act of obscuring the face from view also evokes a sense of loneliness. The nude figures are not expressing human emotions and are cleverly becoming a part of the natural landscape.

Feeling Relaxed?

There is a difference between using nudes and nudity, especially in photography. Looking at the work, Stas Kadrulev is not objectifying the nude model. He is using their naked form and creating atmospheres of tranquility. The contrast between the soft nude skin and the sometimes harsh environment feels like you’ve crash landed onto another planet. The models don’t seem displaced, but rather, a part of the natural setting.

Stas Kadrulev does not have an official website, per se. We kind of wish he did. But then, it would take away from the allure of his work if we learned too much. Instead, check out his DeviantArt page. It provides a number of images not posted in this article. To see more, visit this link and enjoy the scenery.
